Golden Machinery

You can find us at No. 103/20 on Forshore Road. It’s a busy street with a lot of heavy vehicles moving back and forth. Our place is full of machinery parts, big and small. There’s always a bit of oil on the floor and the smell of metal in the air. We spend our days looking through catalogs or checking old machines to see what’s wrong with them. It’s a lot of heavy lifting, so my back usually hurts by the end of the day. Forshore Road is a good place for a machinery business because it’s easy for the trucks to pull up near the door. We have some benches where we take things apart to see how they work. It’s not a clean environment, but that’s just the nature of working with gears and motors. We have a lot of old tools that have been around for years. Sometimes customers come in with a part that’s so old we have to search everywhere to find a replacement. It’s like a puzzle sometimes. We don't have any fancy office space, just a desk with a lot of grease marks on it. We drink a lot of tea and talk to the drivers who come by. It’s a straightforward job, fixing things and selling the parts that keep other businesses running. We just stay busy and try to keep the shop as organized as a machine shop can be. It’s not a job for someone who hates getting their clothes dirty. I have a collection of old rusted parts in a bin.
