About Ena Agricultural Enterprise – Industrial Plant & Machines in Howrah
Our place, Ena Agricultural Enterprise, is tucked away at 51/3 Kamini School Lane in Salkia. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze getting down the lane if there is a truck coming the other way. The building is older and we use most of the ground floor to store seeds and different farming tools. It’s often dusty inside from the sacks of feed and fertilizer, so I’m usually sneezing by midday. We don't have a fancy showroom with lights and displays. It is just stacks of items that farmers and gardeners in the area actually need. My family has been involved in this kind of work for a long time. I usually sit near the front door so I can see people as they walk in. We talk about the weather a lot because it matters so much for the crops around here. Sometimes I have to help load heavy bags into a rickshaw, which is a good workout. The school nearby gets noisy when the kids are let out, but otherwise, it’s a fairly normal street. We keep a record of what people buy in a big handwritten book. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it has worked for us so far. We don’t do any big advertising. People just know we are here on the lane and they drop by when they need something for their fields.
