Dalmia Cement

Working out of Jalan Complex at Gate Number 1 keeps us pretty busy most days. This part of Jangalpur gets a lot of truck traffic, especially near the Post-Begri area. We handle the Dalmia Cement stocks here. It is a large space but it fills up fast when the new shipments come in from the plant. The guys spend a lot of time checking the bags for tears or moisture. You have to be careful with cement in this weather. Our spot at the first gate is easy to find, but the road gets a little rough when it rains. We have been here for a while and the routine stays mostly the same. Wake up, open the shutters, and see what the schedule looks like for the deliveries. The air around the complex is always a bit heavy with dust, so we wear masks and try to keep things swept up. It is honest work. We don't have a big office with air conditioning or anything like that. Just a desk, some chairs, and plenty of space for the pallets. Most people find us because they are already coming into Jalan Complex for other supplies. We talk to the drivers, sign the papers, and get the bags loaded out as fast as we can. It’s just how we get things done every day without much fuss. If the truck is late, we just wait and have some tea.
