Our office is right at the Bombay Road Crossing on the Howrah Amta Road. It’s a busy spot where the NH6 passes through. You can imagine the amount of traffic and noise we have around here in West Bengal. New Kolkata International Development Pvt. Ltd. is involved in a lot of different projects around this area. We have been here for a while, watching the roads get wider and the buildings go up. Our workplace is pretty basic. We have a lot of maps and plans scattered around the tables. It’s where we coordinate everything. Being at such a major crossing means we are easy to find, but it also means it’s never quiet. We have a small team that handles the daily operations. We aren't into big, flashy advertisements or anything like that. We just focus on the development work we have in front of us. Some days are just filled with phone calls and meetings with contractors. It’s a lot of logistics and making sure things are moving according to schedule. We take our tea breaks together when we can. It’s an honest living, and we’ve grown quite fond of this dusty corner of Kolkata. We don't try to sound like a giant corporation. We’re just a group of people working on local development and trying to make sure things get built properly. It’s a steady process that keeps us on our toes every single day.
