A.K. Industries

A.K. Industries is tucked away on Dharsa Road in the Baltikuri area, specifically in Mullick Para. If you are trying to find us, look for the big blue gate near the turn. It is a bit of a tight squeeze for the bigger trucks to get down this road, but we make it work somehow. The shop floor is usually pretty noisy with the machines running most of the day. We’ve got a small crew here, mostly local guys who have been with us since we started. There is always a layer of dust on everything, no matter how much we sweep. We deal with various industrial parts and it is a lot of hands-on work. My desk is right near the front so I can see who is coming and going. Sometimes the power goes out and we all just sit outside for a bit until it comes back on. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know. We spend a lot of time measuring things and double-checking the specs so we don't have to redo the work. The neighborhood is mostly other small workshops, so everyone knows everyone else. Lunch usually comes from the little stall down the lane. We don't have a big fancy sign or anything, just the address and our name on the wall. It's just a place where we put in our hours and try to keep the machines in good shape for the next day.
