Our place is located at Plot Number 1 in Singodi village, right next to the big telephone tower. If you are coming through Pipariya in the Hoshangabad district, you really can’t miss that tower, and we are just right there beside it. Jai Devnarayan Farmers Producer Companylimited is mostly a group of us from the village who wanted to pool our resources together. Farming by yourself is getting harder every year, so we thought we would be better off as a unit. We handle all sorts of things related to the local crops. There isn't any polished office culture here. Most of the time, our boots are muddy and we are out talking to someone in their field or sitting under the shade near the tower to escape the afternoon sun. We deal with the day-to-day realities of being a farmer in Madhya Pradesh. Some days the market is good, some days it’s not, but we just keep pushing through. We aren't here to give you a sales pitch. We just do the work that needs doing so everyone in our group can keep their farms running. It’s a quiet life in Singodi for the most part, aside from the noise of the tractors. We focus on what’s right in front of us and try not to worry too much about things we can't control. It’s just how we get by.
