New Globe Engineering Work. Our workshop is near GT Road in Village Boinchi. Being in Hooghly district, we get a lot of different kinds of work coming through the door. We are right by the main road, so there is always the sound of trucks and buses passing by. It’s a dusty place because of the traffic, but we are used to it by now. We do a lot of welding and metal fabrication. If something breaks on a tractor or a truck, people often bring it to us to see if we can fix it. We have some old lathes and a drill press that have seen a lot of use over the years. We don't have any fancy brochures. Most of our work comes from people just driving in or being told about us by someone else in the village. It’s a hard job, especially in the heat of the summer when the tin roof gets really hot. We take breaks under the tree outside when we can. We aren't a big factory, just a local engineering shop trying to do things properly. Sometimes we run out of gas for the welding or the power goes out, but we find a way to finish the job. We’ve lived in this village all our lives, so we know everyone around here. It’s just our way of making a living with our hands and a few tools.
