Down in Hasayan, which is part of Hathras, you'll find our college building. It is a sturdy old structure that has seen many years of students coming and going. Most of the kids who come here are from the nearby villages and they usually arrive on bicycles. You can see the cycles lined up near the entrance every morning. We handle the older students, specifically those finishing their intermediate years. The classrooms have high ceilings and heavy wooden doors that sometimes creak. We don't have much in the way of decoration on the walls, just some old charts and the occasional map. The office stays pretty busy with paperwork, and there are always files stacked up on the desks. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, but we have a few big trees in the yard that provide some relief from the sun. Our staff is made up of people who have lived in this area their whole lives. We don't do much advertising or anything like that. People just know we are here. The playground is mostly used for cricket during the breaks. It’s a practical place without any fancy extras. We just try to get through the syllabus every year and help the students pass their exams. It is a quiet life here until the lunch bell rings and the halls fill up with noise.
