About Mahavir Anjana Singh Inter College – Education in Hathras
Our college is out in Sangila, which is part of the Hathras district. It’s a rural spot where things are pretty quiet most of the time. The building is a large, sturdy one that stands out against the local houses. We have a big gate at the front where the students gather before the first class starts. Most of them come from the nearby villages, some walking and others on old bicycles they park in the yard. The classrooms are basic, with ceiling fans that hum all day long to keep the heat away. We have been here for years, and the walls are covered with old charts and student work from long ago. It isn't a place with a lot of money, but we have what we need to teach. The staff room has a big table where we all sit and have lunch together. We talk about the crops and the weather as much as we talk about the lessons. Hathras can get very dusty, so we are always sweeping the floors. The kids are generally well-behaved, though they can get loud when the final bell rings and it’s time to head home. We don't have a website or anything like that; people just walk in if they need to talk to the principal. It’s just a local college trying to help the youth in this part of Uttar Pradesh. We take things one day at a time and keep the routine going.
