C L R N Seksaria Inter College sits right there in front of the City Railway Station on Mendu Road. It’s quite a spot because you can always hear the trains coming and going throughout the day. Hathras is a busy place, and our corner here is no different from the rest of the town. The building has been around for a long time, and it definitely shows its age in some spots, but it’s sturdy and serves us well. We spend a lot of time just keeping things running. Mornings are the loudest when the kids arrive and the station across the street is waking up. We don't do anything flashy here. It's just simple classrooms, some wooden benches, and the daily lessons. Being on Mendu Road means there’s always people passing by the gate. Sometimes travelers from the station stop and ask us for directions or a bit of water. It’s a simple life at the college. We aren’t some big city institution with glass walls or air conditioning. We just have our old gates and the dusty playground where the kids run around. The staff mostly lives nearby, so we just walk or cycle in every morning. There is always a bit of chalk dust on everything and the sound of bells ringing to mark the periods. It’s a lot of paper work and making sure the students are where they should be. We just try to get through the syllabus and make sure the place stays relatively clean. It gets pretty dusty with the road right there, so someone is always sweeping up. It’s just how things are in Hathras.
