Hotel Ashoka Cloak Room & Travels is situated on Railway Road in Mayapur. Being so close to the station means we see people from all over. We started out just helping travelers who had a few hours to kill and nowhere to put their bags. Then we added the travel side of things because people kept asking for taxis. It is a bit of a mix here. One minute we are tagging a suitcase and the next we are talking about a trip to the mountains. The office is always a bit cluttered with bags and paperwork, but we know where everything is. Railway Road is a noisy, lively place to be. We are used to the sound of the trains and the crowds. We don't have a big marketing budget or a shiny office. It is just a practical place for people who are on the move. We try to keep the cars clean and the drivers ready to go. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when three trains arrive at once, but we manage to get everyone sorted eventually. We’ve been in Mayapur for a long time, so we know most of the shopkeepers around here. It feels like a small village in some ways. We just do our bit to help people get where they are going next. Most of our regular customers are people who visit Haridwar every year and know where to find us. It is a busy life but it is what we know. We just stay open and wait for the next traveler.
