Sabri Gareeb Nawaz Hotel

Our hotel is situated on Sohalpur Road in the Chungupi part of Roorkee. It has been standing here for quite a few years. We start our day before the sun is even up to get the kitchen going. The tea is the first thing we start. This area of Roorkee stays fairly active with people traveling through. We aren't a big fancy establishment with carpets or bright lights. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we spend most of our time keeping the kitchen running instead. We have some basic seating for anyone who wants to sit for a bit. Most of the people who come in are regulars from the neighborhood or drivers passing along Sohalpur Road. My uncle started this place a long time ago and we just kept it going. We don't have any big advertisements. The smell of the food usually brings people in anyway. It’s a simple setup where we focus on filling plates. The chairs are a bit old and sometimes the floor gets a little dusty from the road outside, but we sweep up as often as we can. It’s a humble place and we don’t try to be anything else. We see the same faces every week and that feels good. Roorkee is a nice town to work in even when it’s busy. We just keep our heads down and do the work day after day.
