Ashoka Hotel And Travels

We are located right on Railway Road in Haridwar, basically just across from the railway station. If you walk out of the station, you'll see us pretty easily. It’s always a bit noisy here because of the trains and the crowds, but that’s just how Haridwar is. We’ve been running Ashoka Hotel And Travels for quite some time now. Some people come in just looking for a room for the night because they arrived late on a train, and others want help figuring out how to get to the different ghats or temples around town. We handle the hotel side of things and also help with travel arrangements if someone needs a car or a bus ticket to go further up into the hills. The lobby isn't very big, and sometimes it gets crowded with bags when a group arrives all at once. We spend a lot of our day just answering questions about train timings or where to get a decent meal nearby. The street outside is usually full of rickshaws and people selling stuff. It gets really busy during the big festivals, and we barely have time to sit down then. We just try to keep things moving and make sure everyone has a place to sleep. It’s a simple setup, nothing too fancy, just a building on a busy road where people come and go. We see a lot of different faces every day from all over the place. It's hard work but it's our life.
