The Court

Being located near Jay Vilas Palace means we see a lot of people passing by every day. The Court is tucked away near Nadi Gate, right inside the Usha Kiran Palace area in Lashkar. It's a busy part of Gwalior, and finding a spot to park can be a real headache sometimes. We’ve been at this spot in Jayendraganj for quite some time now. Most people know us because of the landmark nearby, which helps since the side streets can get confusing. It’s an old part of town, so the buildings have that thick-walled feel to them. We spend our mornings getting things ready before the afternoon rush hits. It gets pretty loud outside with the traffic from the main gate, but inside it stays relatively calm. We aren't trying to be the most modern place in the city, we just focus on keeping things functional. The staff here mostly lives nearby, so we know the local shortcuts and where to get the best tea when we're on a break. Dealing with the old plumbing and the narrow entrances is just part of the daily routine for us. We don't put on airs or pretend to be something we aren't. If you're coming from the palace side, just look for the turn by Nadi Gate. We’re usually here from early morning until the sun goes down, just handling the usual business that comes our way. It's a lot of work but we like the area.
