Guru Kripa Vaatanulit Family Restaurant

This restaurant is right on Station Road in Gwalior, down in the Station Bazariya area. We are actually located below Hotel Chandralok, so you have to come down a bit to find us. Being near the railway station means the area never really sleeps. There are always people with luggage walking past and the sound of rickshaws looking for passengers. Since we are Vaatanulit, we have the air conditioning on most of the time because the dust and heat of Gwalior can be quite a lot to handle. It’s a family-run place, so you’ll usually see one of us sitting at the counter or checking on the kitchen. The space is a bit enclosed because it’s below the main hotel level, but we’ve put up some lights to make it feel less cramped. We don’t have a fancy website or a marketing team. We just rely on the people who are staying at the hotels nearby or the travelers who have a few hours between trains. The furniture is basic, just sturdy tables and chairs that can take a lot of use. Sometimes the station announcements are so loud you can hear them inside even with the doors shut. We just keep serving and making sure the food is ready for whoever comes in hungry. It’s a busy life being so close to the tracks, but we are used to the rhythm of the trains now. We just focus on our daily tasks.
