Shalu Hair Salon

Shalu Hair Salon is right on University Road in the Govindpuri area of Gwalior. Being near the university means we see a lot of students coming in every day. They always want the latest styles they see on the internet or in movies. We do our best to match what they want. It is a lively spot because of the young crowd always hanging around. We also have older folks from the Govindpuri neighborhood who have been coming to us for years and years. The shop is not very big but we have tucked a few chairs in there. We have some shelves with various gels and sprays and combs. Often there is a bit of music playing, usually something popular that the students like. We keep the place open pretty late because that is when most people have time to stop by after classes or work. Sometimes the sink gets clogged with all the hair so we are constantly fixing things around the shop. It is just how it is. My brother and I run the place together. We learned how to cut hair from our father when we were younger. It is a family thing for us. We do not spend money on advertising; people just see the sign on University Road and walk in. We try to be friendly and give everyone a decent cut. It is a busy life here in Gwalior and we are just glad to be a part of the local community.
