Baba Beauty Salon

You can find us over in Tiwari Pura in Dabra, right on the Station Road. Being near the station means there is always someone walking by or some noise from the trains. We have been running this salon for a bit and it is a humble little spot. It is not one of those expensive places you see in the big cities, but we have what we need to get the job done. The floor is tile and we try to sweep it often because hair gets everywhere. We do haircuts mostly, but some people come in for other small things too. Gwalior gets very hot in the summer, so we have a couple of fans going all day long. My cousin works with me and we just handle the customers as they come in. There is a wooden bench outside if the two chairs inside are full. We talk about the news or the weather while we work. It is a regular life here. Sometimes the power goes out, which is common in this part of town, but we just keep going with the natural light from the door. People like coming here because we don't rush them and it feels like home. We are just local people doing our work on Station Road. No fancy brochures or anything, just a comb and scissors and some conversation. That is what Baba Beauty Salon is about.
