Dharm Hair Salon

Dharm Hair Salon is right on University Road in Govindpuri, Gwalior. We are directly opposite the Talwerkars Fitness Club, so we see a lot of people going in and out to exercise while we are cutting hair. The shop has been here for a good while now. Since we are near the university, we get a lot of students who are always in a hurry or looking for a cheap cut. We also have the older regulars who have lived in Govindpuri for decades. The shop isn't very large. We have three chairs and a small area for people to wait. Sometimes it gets crowded and people have to stand outside on the sidewalk. We don’t mind. It’s good to have the business. The walls are painted a simple color and we have a few posters of different hair styles that are probably out of date now. We use traditional razors and spend a lot of time sharpening them. It’s a skill you have to learn. The street outside is always loud with bikes and cars, but inside we just focus on the hair. We don’t have any big corporate goals. We just want to do a steady job and make enough to keep the lights on and the family fed. Gwalior is a city with a lot of history, and we feel like a small part of that history here on University Road. It’s a simple way to spend the day.
