Ridhi Sidhi Vinayak Beauty Parlour

Ridhi Sidhi Vinayak Beauty Parlour is located near Gola Ka Mandir in Gwalior. This is a very well-known landmark, so people never have trouble finding us. The area stays busy because of the temple visitors and the local market. You can often hear the bells ringing or people chatting as they walk toward the mandir. Our parlour is a modest space where we do basic beauty work for the women in the neighborhood. We have a few plastic chairs for waiting and a large mirror that covers one side of the wall. The paint is peeling a bit near the ceiling because of the dampness last monsoon, but the place is kept clean. We have a small cupboard where all the creams and threads are stored neatly. Gwalior can be quite dusty, so I have to wipe the counters multiple times a day. We get a mix of older women coming for a thread and younger girls looking for something new. The electricity can be a bit unreliable, so we keep a rechargeable light handy just in case. It’s a small family-run feel here, and we often end up talking about local news with the customers. There is no rush, we take our time with each person. It’s just how things work in this part of Gwalior. We close up once the evening prayers at the temple are finished and the crowd starts to thin out for the night.
