Raj Jayka Restaurant

Raj Jayka Restaurant is located on Nai Sadak in the Lashkar area of Gwalior. If you know where the Moreno Gazak shop is, we are basically right across from them. We spend most of our days in the kitchen getting things ready for the lunch rush. It gets pretty hot in there near the stoves, but we are used to it by now. The tables are wooden and we try to keep them wiped down, though it gets crowded during the afternoons when everyone is hungry. Gwalior is a place where people like their food, so we stay very busy. We don't have a huge menu with a hundred things on it. We just cook what we know how to make well. Mostly it's just local people who stop by after doing their shopping on Nai Sadak. Sometimes travelers find us too. The floor is tile and it’s seen a lot of feet over the years. We open up early to start the stove and we usually stay until the last person finishes their dinner. It's a lot of work running a place like this in 474001. My family helps out when they can, especially with the dishes. We don't spend money on fancy signs or anything. People just know where we are because we've been here. It’s a loud place sometimes with all the traffic outside, but inside we just focus on the cooking and making sure the plates are full for the customers. It’s just how we live.
