Mushkan Beauty Parlour

Our parlor is at 107 Laxmi Bai Colony in the Padav area of Gwalior. It's a residential neighborhood, so most of our customers are just the people living nearby. I named it Mushkan Beauty Parlour because I like seeing people smile when they look in the mirror. It's not a big studio with bright lights and music. Just a comfortable room where I do threading, facials, and hair styling. Gwalior gets very hot in the summer, so I try to keep the place cool for whoever comes in. I’ve been doing this for a few years now. I learned the work from my sister and then started my own place. It’s a lot of responsibility keeping a business going. I handle everything myself, from cleaning the towels to buying the creams. The colony is quiet mostly, except for when the kids are playing outside. I like the routine of it. Every morning I set up my tools. I don't have a big sign, just a small one so people know where to go. People come here to talk as much as they do for the beauty work. We talk about family and what's happening in Gwalior. It feels like a community here. I try to do a good job so people come back next time. That is the only way to keep a shop running in Padav. Sometimes I stay open late if someone has a wedding to go to. It’s part of the job. You have to be there when people need you. I'm just a local person working hard.
