Our office is located in the NHAI Building at the Km 24 Milestone on the National Highway 8. Since we are right on the Delhi Gurgaon Expressway, we see thousands of cars go by every single hour. It is a bit of a noisy place to work because of the constant traffic, but you eventually stop noticing it. We are an engineering setup, so the desks are usually covered in large paper maps and technical drawings. It’s not a polished corporate office. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint and the furniture is just basic stuff that works. We spend a lot of time calculating things and checking on infrastructure projects. Often, the staff is out on-site, so the office might be a bit empty during the day. We wear boots and simple clothes because we’re often walking through construction areas or along the roadside. The air is often thick with dust and fumes from the highway, but that's just where we are situated. We don't have a big mission statement on the wall. We just focus on the tasks we have for the day and get the engineering work done. It’s a lot of math and looking at blueprints. Getting in and out of the building can be a headache when the traffic piles up at the toll plaza nearby, but we manage. We just keep our heads down and do the projects assigned to us.
