You can find Shiv Metal & Fasteners at 3/245 on Old Railway Road in Subhash Nagar. The shop is small and packed from floor to ceiling with bins of nuts, bolts, and all sorts of fasteners. If you are looking for a specific size, we probably have it buried somewhere in one of those plastic containers. It is a bit of a maze inside, and only a couple of us really know where everything is kept. The air in here always smells a bit like oil and old iron. We spend a lot of time counting out small parts and putting them into little bags for customers. Old Railway Road is a very busy stretch, so there is always a backdrop of honking horns and people shouting. We don't have any air conditioning, just a couple of wall fans that move the warm air around. The counter is made of heavy wood and it is worn down from years of people sliding metal parts across it. We don't bother with a lot of talk unless it is about the parts someone needs. Sometimes we have to dig through the back storage for an hour just to find one specific screw. It is a simple life of managing thousands of tiny pieces of metal. We have been here in Subhash Nagar for quite a while now and the locals know to come to us when they are stuck. It is just a humble hardware shop.
