Padmini Engineering is situated at the 9th Milestone on the Gurgaon-Farook Nagar Road, out in Dhaokot. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but we like the extra space it gives us. The area is quite open, and you can see the fields nearby, which is a nice change from the crowded city centers. Our facility is a practical one. We have a large shed where we keep the heavy machinery and the materials we use for our projects. It’s often dusty, and the sound of metal being worked on is pretty much constant. We aren't the type to wear suits or have long meetings in glass boardrooms. Most of our discussions happen right on the shop floor, standing next to the machines. We’ve got a loyal crew of workers who have been with us for a long time. We eat our lunch together and talk about whatever is going on in the news or in our families. Being out here means we have to be a bit more self-sufficient, so we handle a lot of the maintenance and repairs ourselves. We don't put much effort into being "corporate." We just care about the engineering and making sure the stuff we produce is solid. It’s a quiet, steady life on the edge of the town, and we wouldn't have it any other way. We just do the work, load up the trucks, and get things where they need to go every day.
