Vikas Communication

Sadar Bazar is always a bit of a mess, especially near shop number one where we are. It is loud outside most of the day with people shouting and bikes honking. Inside Vikas Communication, it is a bit quieter but not by much. We have been sitting here for a long time now. My desk is usually covered in old receipts and different types of mobile phone chargers that people left behind or forgot to pick up. Most mornings start with a cup of tea from the stall across the street and then we open the shutters. It’s a small place. You can barely fit four people inside if everyone is standing. We spend most of the time talking to people about their phone screens or why their sim card isn't working right. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit there in the dark waiting for it to come back on. We don't have fancy lights or big signs. It’s just a regular shop where we try to get things done. The walls could use a new coat of paint, honestly. It’s been the same shade of blue since I can remember. Sometimes we get busy and other times we just watch the traffic go by on the main road. It is just how life is here in the market. We know most of the other shopkeepers around us. We all just do our work and go home to have dinner.
