Spice Hotspot

If you head up to the first floor of Sahara Mall, shop 111, you’ll find us at Spice Hotspot. Being on M G Road means the mall is usually full of people walking around, especially on the weekends. Our shop is a bit small compared to some of the big stores nearby, but we fit a lot of phones and gadgets into the space we have. It’s bright in here because of the mall lights, and we have glass cases everywhere to show what’s in stock. We spend most of our time answering questions about different features or helping someone set up a new device they just bought. It’s a lot of standing around and talking. Sometimes the air conditioning in the mall is too cold, so we wear sweaters even when it's hot outside. We’ve been in this unit for a while now. It’s a bit different from a street shop because everything is so polished in the mall, but inside our four walls, we’re just regular people trying to make a living. We get a lot of window shoppers who just want to see the newest things. We don't mind. It’s part of being in Sahara Mall. We keep things organized, but you’ll often see a half-eaten lunch or a tea cup behind the counter. It’s just how it goes when you’re working a long shift in a busy shopping center. We stay open late like the rest of the floor.
