Moon Telecom is my small shop on Mehrauli Road. It’s right there where all the traffic passes by on the way to the city. I’ve got a couple of glass counters filled with different mobile phones, mostly the older models or the budget ones that people are looking for. I also keep a lot of those colorful plastic covers and screen protectors because that’s what sells the most. I spend my day sitting on a plastic chair, waiting for customers and maybe fixing a broken speaker on a phone now and then. The noise from Mehrauli Road is something you just get used to after a week; the honking becomes like background music. I don't have a big sign with lights, just a simple board so people know what we do. It’s a one-man operation for the most part. If I need to go get lunch, I just pull the shutter halfway down for ten minutes. I know most of the other shopkeepers around here, and we sometimes share a cup of tea in the afternoon when it’s slow. People stop by to get a quick recharge or to ask for a new SIM card. I try to keep the prices fair because I know most of my customers are just regular working people from the area. It’s not a fancy life, but it keeps me busy and I like being my own boss on this busy stretch of road.
