CURRY OOTA

Curry Oota is over in Qutab Plaza which is a pretty busy spot in DLF Phase 1. We spend most of our time in the kitchen or hanging around the counter. It gets really loud during the lunch hour when everyone comes over from their offices nearby. Being right near the Dominos means people are always walking past our door. We’ve been here in Gurgaon for a while now. The space is on level L3. It’s not a huge place but we make it work for us. Sometimes the lift acts up so people just take the stairs. We start early in the morning getting everything ready for the day. The smell of onions and spices is everywhere by 11 am. We have a few tables and chairs that have been here since we first opened up. We don’t really do anything fancy here. It’s just us making food and hoping the people who come in like it. We see the same faces every week, mostly folks working in the Phase 1 area. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when three orders come in at once and the delivery guys are all waiting at the same time. We try to keep the floor clean but with all the foot traffic from the plaza it is a constant job. We are just a small part of the DLF City setup. Nothing too special about the building, just a practical spot in a busy part of town.
