Chakh Le India

Chakh Le India is located right inside the MDI campus in DLF Gurgaon, specifically on the ground floor of the Lakshya Building. It’s a lively spot because of all the students and faculty walking around. You can always hear the chatter of people talking about exams or their next classes. Our little corner is pretty simple. We serve food that people know and like. It’s not complicated. We open up and start prepping early because the hunger doesn't wait. The kitchen is small but we’ve learned how to move around each other without bumping into things too much. On some days, the line goes out the door, and we just have to move faster. We don't have a big corporate team behind us. It’s just us, the cooks and the servers, trying to make sure everyone gets their meal on time. The menu is what it is—stuff that fills you up and tastes good. We use local ingredients and don't try to be something we're not. Sometimes we run out of a certain dish by mid-afternoon, and that’s just how it goes. The students are mostly nice, even when they’re in a hurry. We’ve seen many batches of kids come and go over the years. It’s a good feeling to be a part of their daily routine. We just keep our heads down, cook the food, and clean up at the end of the day. It is simple work.
