Shop number 32 in the MC Market is where we keep everything. Old Railway Road is always crowded, so getting the trucks in and out is a bit of a headache sometimes. We have piles of folded tents and stacks of heavy chairs shoved into the back of the shop. It's been there for years and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint. People come to us when they have a wedding or a small function at home. We spend a lot of time loading and unloading poles and heavy fabrics. My hands are usually a bit rough from handling the ropes and metal frames. We aren't a big event planning company, just a local tent house. Sometimes the fabrics get a little faded from the sun, but we try to keep the clean ones for the big parties. It gets really busy during the wedding season. We barely have time to sit down then. The shop isn't very large, so most of our stuff is stored in a warehouse nearby. If you need some shade for a party or enough chairs for the neighbors, you just come by the market and talk to us. We write everything down in a big ledger book with a pen. It’s an old-school way of doing things, but it works for us. We’ve known the other shopkeepers around here for a long time and we often share a cup of tea when things are slow.
