Working inside the Metropolitan Mall is a whole different experience than being on a regular street. Our shop, number 78 A, is right in the middle of all the noise and the bright lights. You don’t really know what time of day it is because the mall lights are always the same. Advent Telecell is where I spend most of my hours. We get a lot of shoppers who just happen to walk by and realize they need a new charger or a better case for their phone. It’s a fast environment. People are usually in a hurry to get to the movies or meet friends for dinner. I spend a lot of time wiping the glass counters because everyone leaves fingerprints while they look at the displays. The air conditioning is nice in the summer, I won't lie about that. But sometimes you miss the fresh air. We have a lot of competition around here, so we just try to be helpful and straightforward. I deal with a lot of questions about the latest models and how the cameras work. Even though it is a mall, we have our regulars—people who work in the other stores and come to us when their tech acts up. We keep a small radio behind the counter for when things get quiet, but that doesn't happen very often. It’s a busy life, and there is always something to do. The mall closes late, so we are often here until night.
