Out here in Shahabad, specifically at Alstom Colony, life moves at its own steady pace. This part of Gulbarga gets incredibly hot in the summer, and the dust from the surrounding area is just something we live with every day. Our office is tucked away at Cross Road-16, specifically at S.T.R.T.-15/10. It’s an older building, nothing too modern or flashy, but it serves its purpose for Acc Ltd just fine. Most of the people working here also live in the nearby colony houses, so we see each other all the time, not just during work hours. You get used to the sound of the machinery and the heavy trucks coming in and out of the district. It’s just honest work. We spend our mornings checking the logs and making sure the distribution side of things isn't hitting any major snags. The roads around here aren't always the best, so planning the logistics takes up a lot of our daily energy. There’s no fancy lobby or reception area with air conditioning. Just desks, some old files, and a cooling fan that works most of the time. We take our breaks together and talk about the local news or the weather, which usually involves complaining about the sun in Karnataka. We have been part of the Shahabad landscape for a long time now. People know us by the address more than anything else. It’s just a regular industrial site where we get the work done without making a big fuss.
