Out here in Wadi, things move at a different pace. We are part of the Acc Cement site, and if you've ever been around this part of the country, you know it's a lot of gray. Cement is everywhere. We spend most of our time dealing with the logistics of it all. The trucks come in early, sometimes before the sun is even fully up, and the noise doesn't really stop until late. It’s a heavy business. Everything we touch has a bit of weight to it. The air always has that specific smell of limestone and processing. We spend our days checking schedules and making sure the loading bays are clear. It's not the kind of job where you wear a clean suit. Most of us have boots that have seen better days. We eat our lunch quickly and get back to it because the demand for cement never seems to drop. Wadi is a tough place to work sometimes, the heat can get quite bad in the summer months, but it’s where the industry is. We’ve got a routine down now. It’s mostly about managing the flow of materials and making sure the gates stay busy. There isn't much to say about the office side of things, it’s just desks and stacks of papers. We just focus on the cement and getting it where it needs to go every day without too much fuss.
