Seema Bricks Company

Seema Bricks Company is out in Village Barhaj. It’s a quiet place compared to the cities, which I like. We are right there at the Post Barhaj area. The work here follows the seasons. When it’s the dry months, we are going full speed, making and stacking as many bricks as we can manage. During the monsoon, things get a lot slower and the mud makes everything twice as hard to move. I spend my days walking around the yard, making sure the kilns are working right. We use old methods because they work for us and we know them well. The villagers here often stop by to chat or see what’s going on. It’s more of a community feel than a business sometimes. We don’t have a fancy office with air conditioning. We just have a small shack where we keep the records and escape the sun for a few minutes. My clothes are always stained with the red earth from the village. It’s hard on the back, but it’s a living. We don’t promise anyone anything impossible. We just provide the bricks they need to build their homes or their walls. It’s simple, honest work that we’ve been doing for a long time now. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to keep the village building. When a job is done, we sit by the road and watch the sunset.
