Pravancal Institute

Our place is hidden away a bit in Gas Godam Gali. If you know where Bijay Choraha is in Golghar, then you are pretty close. You just have to turn down the lane and look for our small sign. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze for cars, so most people just walk or bring their bikes. The institute isn't very large. It’s just a few rooms in a quiet corner of Gorakhpur. We like it here because it stays a bit cooler than the main road. We’ve been here for several years now. The walls are covered in some old posters and some notes we’ve scribbled over time. It’s not the most organized looking place, but it has a certain charm to it, I think. We don't have a professional cleaning crew or anything, we just sweep up ourselves at the end of the day. It’s just a few of us working here. We don't use any big words to describe what we do. People come here because they need to learn, and we do our best to help them with the materials we have. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps when it’s quiet. It’s a very grounded kind of place. No big corporate rules or anything like that. Just a local spot for local people. It might not look like much from the outside, but we get the work done regardless.
