M P Inter College is right in the middle of Golghar in Gorakhpur. If you know the area, you know how busy it gets with all the shops and the people moving about. The college building stands there among the noise of the city. We have students coming in from all parts of the 273001 area and even from the outskirts of Gorakhpur. The classrooms are basic, filled with wooden desks that have been around for quite a while. You can hear the traffic from the main road while the teachers are talking, but everyone is used to it by now. During the monsoon, the ground gets a bit muddy, and we all have to watch our step. It’s a very local kind of place where things aren't always perfect. Maybe a window doesn't shut right or the paint is a bit dull in the hallways, but it's where the learning happens. We have a small staff room where we sit and drink tea between classes. The students are mostly busy with their books, especially when exam time comes around. We don't use any fancy slogans or marketing tricks. People come here because they know us and we’ve been here for years. It’s just a regular inter college doing what it’s supposed to do for the community. The evenings are quieter once the students head home and the shops nearby start turning on their lights. It is just another day in the center of Gorakhpur for us.
