Pipraich Hi-Tech Agro Farmer Producercompany Limited is based at Banwari Singh’s place in Hemdhapur, over in the Gorakhpur area. Don't let the "hi-tech" name fool you into thinking we have a bunch of computers and fancy gadgets. We’re still just local farmers working in the dirt. We use the name because we are trying to do things a bit smarter than before, maybe using better seeds or different methods we heard about. The office is a simple room in Islampur where we keep our documents and have our meetings. There is usually a lot of talk and some tea being passed around. Gorakhpur has good soil, but the work is still hard and the days are long. We gather at Banwari’s to figure out who needs what and how we are going to get the harvest to the city. It’s a practical setup meant for real people. We don't have any polished marketing materials or a big mission statement on the wall. We just want to make sure the work we do in the fields actually pays off. It’s a group effort and everyone chips in when they can. Sometimes things get a bit messy with the scheduling, but we always find a way to make it work. It’s just how things are done here in Hemdhapur, and we are fine with that.
