Budhwara is a quiet place in Mahoba, and that is where we do all our work. Brijendra Singh is the one who handles a lot of the day-to-day things for the company. We call ourselves a technical farming group because we are trying to learn a few new ways to handle the soil and the water around here. Mahoba can be very dry, so we have to be careful about how we use what we have. It’s not some high-tech lab or anything like that. We just try out different seeds or better ways to plant things to see what works in our local dirt. Most of the time, we are just out in the fields like everyone else. The company is basically just a group of us from the village who wanted to pool our resources. We share the costs of the equipment because most of us couldn't afford it on our own. It’s a practical way to survive. Sometimes the crops don't do well, and we have to sit down and figure out what went wrong. There isn't any polished corporate talk here.
