We run Aakashprerna Kisan Producer Company Limited out of Basantpur Mallahpurwa, which is in the Campierganj area. It’s basically a collective of us farmers from the local villages. We don't have a fancy building or a big staff of people in suits. Most of us are just out in the fields for most of the day. We created this company because we needed a better way to organize our harvests and get the right supplies for the season. Dealing with the market can be a real headache when you are on your own. Now, we just come together at our little spot in Basantpur and figure things out. Sometimes the meetings are long and we talk about everything from the rain to the price of fuel. It’s a very grounded way of doing things. We don't have any polished brochures or big promises. We just work hard and try to get a good crop every year. If you come looking for us, you might have to wait a bit if we are busy with the sowing or the reaping. It’s a simple village life and we like it that way. The paperwork is just something we have to do so we can keep farming as a group. It helps us stay afloat and keep our traditions going in Campierganj. It’s just us, doing what we've always done, but together as a group.
