At Sumridi Khadi Bhandar, we are located at 150, Sihani Gate. This part of town is always buzzing with people. The Sihani Gate area has its own rhythm, and we have become a part of it over the years. Our shop is filled with Khadi items, and there is a specific smell to the fabric that you notice as soon as you walk in. It is a very grounded kind of place. We don't have any loud music or flashing signs. We just have our shelves full of stock and a few counters where we handle everything. Most of the day is spent talking to people who appreciate the feel of Khadi. We have to be careful with how we store everything because the fabric needs to stay clean and dry. It’s a lot of manual work, moving bundles around and checking the quality of what comes in from the makers. Working at 150 Sihani Gate means we see all sorts of people passing by. Some stop in just to chat for a minute before moving on. We like the history of the area and the traditional feel of what we sell. It’s not about being the biggest or the flashiest shop. We just want to provide what we have and keep the doors open for the community. It’s a simple business, and we are happy to be a part of the daily life here in this historic part of the city.
