Shree Vinayak Collection

If you walk towards the Ghanta Ghar and pass through the Subji Mandi, you’ll find us at 53/54. The smell of fresh vegetables is always in the air here, especially early in the morning. Shree Vinayak Collection is right in the thick of it. I open the shutters around nine, and the market is already loud by then. The shop isn't very big, but we make use of every inch of wall space to hang things up. It gets a bit cramped when more than three people come in at once. We’ve had this spot for years. I remember when the old clock tower was the only tall thing around. Now there are signs and wires everywhere. We don’t have a website or any of that. People just know where we are because they’ve been coming to this mandi for their groceries and then they stop by to see what we have. My son helps me out on the weekends when the crowd is the biggest. We have a small stool for the older folks to sit on because the floor is usually covered in bags and boxes. It’s a bit messy sometimes, but that’s just how it is when you’re busy. We try to keep the fans going so it doesn't get too stuffy. It’s a simple life, selling clothes and watching the market go by every day while we talk to the other vendors near us.
