Sakshi Readymade Garments

Down in Vijay Nagar, specifically over in Krichan Nagar Bagu, you’ll find Sakshi Readymade Garments. It’s a place where I sell mostly ready-to-wear stuff because people these days don't want to wait for a tailor. I’ve got shirts, jeans, and some dresses for kids. The shop is on a corner, so I get a bit of a breeze if the wind is right. I’ve been working here for quite some time now. I start my day by opening the metal shutter and putting a few mannequins out on the sidewalk. They aren't in the best shape—one is missing a hand—but they show off the clothes well enough. The neighborhood is mostly families, so I see a lot of mothers shopping for their children. I know most of their names by now. I don't really do sales or big promotions; I just put a sign out if I have something new. The floor is tile and I try to keep it clean, but people bring in a lot of dirt from the road. I usually have a chat with the delivery guys when they bring the boxes. They tell me what’s happening in other parts of the city. I keep a small temple in the corner of the shop and light some incense every morning. It makes the place smell nice for a while. It’s just a regular shop, nothing more, nothing less.
