Chaudhary Quail Farm

Down at 11-C in Sahibabad, we run a small quail farm. It’s a hands-on job, that’s for sure. Birds are a lot of work and they don't take holidays. We started this because we had the space and the interest. It’s not a massive factory farm. We keep things on a smaller scale so we can actually see what’s going on. The pens need cleaning and the feed needs to be topped up every day. You get used to the noise after a while. Sahibabad is a busy area, but our little corner is focused on the birds. We don't have a marketing department or a website guy. We just sell what we have to the people who want it. Sometimes the weather gets too hot and we have to work extra hard to keep them cool. It’s a lot of physical labor. Our hands are usually dirty. We don't use any fancy equipment, just the basics that work. If you come by 11-C, you’ll hear the quails before you see them. It's a simple life, really. We don't worry about corporate trends. We just care about the health of the flock. It's a local thing. People around here know we’re the place for quails. We just keep doing what we've been doing for years. It’s a lot of early mornings and late nights. The birds don't care about the clock. We just do what needs to be done. It's a living.
