We’ve been here at Dilshad Colony for a while now, specifically at Shop No F 8. It’s a small place but we keep busy with the export stuff. People ask what we do exactly and it’s mostly just handling the paperwork and the goods that need to go out. The shop isn't fancy. There are boxes usually stacked up near the door and the fan makes a bit of noise in the summer. We started this because we knew a bit about how shipping works. It’s not always easy keeping track of everything but we manage. Most days start early. We open up the shutters, check the list for the day, and get to it. Dilshad Colony is a crowded area so getting trucks in and out can be a headache sometimes. You have to know the narrow lanes well. My cousin helps out with the lifting and the heavy work. We don't have a big office with glass windows. It's just a regular spot where work gets done. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we sit outside for a bit until it comes back. We’ve known the neighbors for years. If someone needs something sent away, they usually just drop by and talk to us. We don't spend money on ads. The name Jay Kushal Exports is just what’s on the registration. We just focus on getting the crates ready and making sure the labels are right. There is always a lot of tape and cardboard lying around. It gets dusty but that is part of the job.
