About Sahara Kasturi Handicrafts – Art & Craft in Ghaziabad
Our unit is over in the Site-4 Industrial Area at 21 A/3. It is a pretty busy part of town with a lot of heavy trucks moving in and out all day long. Sahara Kasturi Handicrafts is basically a big workshop where we spend most of our time making things by hand. It is not the cleanest place because there is always some dust from the wood or the metal we are working with at the moment. We started out small and just kept adding a few more benches and tools as we needed them over the years. The lighting isn't great in every corner, but we know exactly where everything is kept. Most of the staff live nearby, so we are a pretty tight-knit group of people. We do not spend money on fancy signs or expensive office furniture because we would rather put that into the materials we use. On hot days, it gets pretty stuffy in here, but we keep the big fans going and just get on with the work. We handle a lot of orders for different types of handicrafts, and sometimes the deadlines get a bit tight for us. You will usually hear the sound of hammers or saws if you walk past our front gate. It is a lot of manual labor, and our hands are usually dirty by the end of the shift. We aren't trying to impress anyone; we just want to make stuff that lasts.
