Rajdhani Fireworks. Our place is in Udyog Vihar at Plot No 733, Phase 5. Selling fireworks is a different kind of business because it changes so much with the seasons. Most of the year it’s quiet and we spend time organizing the stock and making sure everything is dry. Moisture is the biggest problem for us. We have to follow a lot of rules about how things are stored and where the boxes go. The shop smells like cardboard and sulfur most of the time. When the festival season starts, it gets very busy and we hardly have time to sit down. People come from all over to see what we have. We keep things in sturdy boxes and try to keep the aisles clear. It’s a lot of manual work moving the heavy cartons around. The Phase 5 area is usually busy with traffic, so getting deliveries in can be a bit of a headache. We have a simple desk near the door where we handle the cash. There aren't any bright lights or decorations here. It’s just a warehouse style setup with shelves reaching up to the ceiling. We have to be very careful with safety, so no one is allowed to smoke anywhere near the gate. It’s a straightforward job and we just take it one day at a time.
