Raj Garments is located right by the Ghanta Ghar Sabzi Market. It’s always noisy with the vegetable sellers yelling and the crowds moving through, but that’s the charm of the place. We sell clothes for everyday use. We don’t have fancy displays or bright lights. It’s just stacks of shirts and trousers on the racks. We’ve been near the clock tower for years. Everyone knows the spot. Usually, we open up early in the morning just as the market starts to get busy. It can be a bit of a squeeze inside the shop when too many people come in at once. We don’t mind. It’s good to talk to the regulars who come by after doing their vegetable shopping. Sometimes we have tea with the guy who sells onions next door. It’s a community feel. We just focus on having enough stock for the local families. We keep the prices fair because we know our customers. It’s not a mall experience. You have to navigate the market crowds to get to us, but it’s worth it. We just keep doing what we do, day in and day out. The shop floor is a bit worn from all the feet walking over it, and we might have a pile of fabric in the corner waiting to be cleared, but it’s a working shop. We don't pretend to be anything else. My nephew helps out on weekends when the market is the loudest.
