Prashant Garments

Prashant Garments is located on Hapur Railway Road. Being so close to the station means we see a lot of different people every day. Some are just passing through and realized they needed an extra shirt or a pair of trousers for their trip. Others are locals who have lived in Hapur their whole lives. The sound of the train whistles is something you hear all day long, and it becomes like background music after a while. The shop is quite narrow and deep. We have tables piled high with different types of garments. I don't use a computer for the accounts; I just write everything down in a big register. It is a bit old-fashioned, but it works for me. The front of the shop is always open to the street, so it can get a bit chilly in the winter. We have a small mirror on the wall for people to see how they look, but it is a bit loose. My son comes by after school sometimes to help me fold the clothes that people have looked through. We aren't trying to be a big department store. We just provide clothes that people need at a price that makes sense. The Railway Road is a dusty place with lots of rickshaws and carts, so I spend a lot of time with a duster in my hand. It is a simple life and I've been doing it for a long time. I know most of the other shop owners on this stretch.
