Our place is at 510 Sector 17 A in Vasundhra. It is a bit of a trek to get here if you aren't from this side of town. The building is tucked away, so it stays relatively quiet compared to the main market. We have been running things from here for a while now. The space is divided into a front area for visitors and a back area where most of the actual work happens. There are sewing machines going for most of the day, so there is a constant humming sound in the background. We have rolls of cloth leaned up against the walls and scissors hanging from hooks. It’s a very practical workspace. We don’t really have any decorations on the walls, just some notes taped near the door. The floor is concrete and stays cold in the winter. We usually keep a heater under the main desk to stay warm. Pranjal is around most days, checking on the orders and making sure we didn't run out of thread or buttons. It’s a small operation and we all know each other well. Sometimes we eat lunch together on the back steps if the weather is nice. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not. We just make clothes and try to stay on top of the schedule. It gets stressful when there are a lot of deadlines at once, but we usually manage to get through it.
