We are located in the basement of Plot No 234/10 in Amritpuri B, which is part of the Garhi area in East of Kailash. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze down here with all the heavy stone slabs. The air always smells a bit like wet stone and dust because of the cutting. We've been dealing with marble for quite a while now. It’s heavy work, moving those pieces around every day. The walls are a bit damp sometimes because it's a basement, but it keeps the stone cool during the Delhi summers. We don't have a fancy showroom with bright lights or anything like that. Most people just come down the stairs to look at the actual stock we have on hand. It’s mostly just me and a couple of guys who help with the loading and unloading. The trucks have a hard time getting into the narrow lanes around here, so that’s always a bit of a struggle every morning. We have all sorts of pieces tucked away in different corners. Some are polished, some are just raw. We use an old wooden desk in the corner to do the paperwork. It’s usually messy with coffee rings and stone samples everywhere. We aren't trying to be a big corporate office. We just sell marble to people who are building or fixing up their floors. It’s honest, hard work. Sometimes the neighbors complain about the noise when we are moving slabs, but we try to be quick.
